The song “Yourself in a Shell” was a collaborative effort between Valiant Blues and Pablo Vermell. Pablo is a musician/songwriter from Brazil. In the winter of 2022, Pablo Vermell and Valiant Blues began writing and finishing a song based on a phone voice memo Pablo sent as a reference. From there, Valiant Blues helped produce and record the instrumental and vocals for the song.

This song is about overcoming ageism and the difficulty of integrating into society as we age. The snap decisions we make carelessly in an effort to feel alive. "Yourself in a Shell" is a coming-of-age tale about the conflict between our idealized selves and the world's harsh realities. How we evolve as aware beings constrained by our unique yet constricting environments. Triggering nostalgic memories of when you were younger, full of aspiration, and without the actual weight of the world on your shoulders.
